      NANCY OBERER

      BIOGRAPHY

      • Nancy Oberer is a Venezuelan artist who showed interest in becoming an artist at an early age. While living in her native country, Oberer began taking private art courses that helped her artistic skills and style. Later, she moved and settled in upstate New York, attended Cayuga Community College, and then moved to Houston. Her love for the arts motivated her to attend Lone Star College in Kingwood, where she graduated with an Associate of Arts degree.  She then received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art in Painting from the University of Houston. She also joined the Glassel School of Arts and developed her love for art abstraction. She continues living in Houston and takes classes at the Glassell School of Art.

      ARTIST STATEMENT

      • My inspiration arises from observing the marvelous blueprint of life and how the most fundamental existence, undetectable to human perception, may transcend our comprehension of the interconnectedness of creation. As a result, portray what lies beyond our tangible reality by amalgamating a diversity of microcellular and organic forms, promoting dynamic interplay among them, where a transformation takes place when grouped into a perspective focal point, generating movement, integration, and a visually representation of the cyclical nature of life.  Subsequently, I opted to reinforce my surroundings by utilizing hues and geometric forms to establish a counterbalance of dissimilar spatial dimensions alongside the organic forms to exhibit a more harmonious and soothing optical effect. It creates a visual picture of life's evolution, allowing it to move freely and making it evolve into a more intricate lifecycle. This perpetual interaction results in ceaseless cooperation among them, engendering a flawless life equilibrium.
